Delta Air Lines Soars with Dual Skytrax Awards

Delta Air Lines have once again proven its excellence in the aviation industry by clinching two prestigious Skytrax World Airline Awards at the 2024 ceremony held in the United Kingdom. The airline was honored with the titles of Best Airline in North America and Best Airline Staff Service, marking its fourth consecutive win for the former and third for the latter.

The Skytrax World Airline Awards are renowned as the pinnacle of quality recognition in the global airline sector. They are determined by the votes of travelers worldwide through the Skytrax World Airline Survey, the most extensive customer experience survey in the industry.

"Winning these awards underscores how our dedication to providing the very best travel experience is appreciated by the 200 million customers who choose to fly with Delta every year," said Ralph Albus, Delta’s Director of Global Communications EMEAI. “Skytrax is among the most respected awards in the industry, and we are particularly proud that Delta people have been deservedly recognized for the excellent service they deliver every day.”

Edward Plaisted, CEO of Skytrax, praised Delta's achievements, stating, "We congratulate Delta Air Lines on this fabulous achievement of being named as the Best Airline in North America for the fourth consecutive year at the 2024 World Airline Awards. This top accolade, along with being named the Best Airline Staff Service in North America, should be a source of pride for the management and staff of Delta Air Lines."

These awards add to Delta’s impressive list of accolades in 2024. The airline recently received the Air Transport World Best Airline 2024 Award, was named ‘Best U.S. Airline’ by The Points Guy for the sixth time since 2018, and secured the title of ‘Best Airline for Business Travelers’ by Business Travel News for an astonishing 13 consecutive years. Additionally, Delta was the only airline to earn a spot on Fortune’s ‘100 Best Companies to Work For’ and topped the J.D. Power 2024 North America Airline Satisfaction Study for First/Business and Premium Economy Passenger Satisfaction.

Delta's continuous recognition reflects its unwavering commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction, solidifying its status as a leader in the airline industry.

More than half of the nearly-three million people in Great Britain who vape are ex-smokers, a new survey suggests. For the first time, more than half of the current 2.9 million e-cigarette users have since given up smoking, Action on Smoking and Health (Ash) said in its annual survey into the use of electronic cigarettes and vapourisers. Many vapers still "dual-use" combustible and electronic cigarettes, which means they are still exposed to the cancer causing substances in tobacco smoke, the study added. Ann McNeill, professor of tobacco addiction at King's College London, said: "This year's Ash survey finds that around 1.5 million vapers are ex-smokers, for the first time a larger number than those who continue to smoke.
